Naive Enlightenment

What is Naive Enlightenment?

When you are on a spiritual path, many cycles happen, before you get to complete enlightenment. The very thing that starts us on a spiritual path is normally what is called "Naïve Enlightenment" This is when we suddenly realise the world isn't how we first thought it was, we start to see the bigger picture, we have awoken up to realise we have been living a lie and trying to conform to our false ego, which is created by those around us.

At this point we often feel euphoric, and completely enlightened, and the signs of this are easy to see for those further down the path. They newly awoken being who is going through Naive Enlightenment will often think they are God, the messiah and feel they can do no wrong and they know everything there is to know.

Your mind works at high speed, new information is coming to you with ease, you feel magickal and wonderful.

But wait, before you start shouting about being the messiah or acting like a 'know it all' take a chill pill, because you are about to face one almighty fall.

Dark Night of the Soul - The Abyss

There then follows a time of chaos and confusion, you can't understand why no one else can see the truth you can see. You might start to try and convince others of your 'truth' and no matter what you do they won't listen to you. Some might listen and they might also think you are wonderful for teaching them the truth, and this only delays the hell you are going through. Depression sets in, all your new found magickal powers abandon you, and you feel more alone and down than you have ever felt before.

So how do you get out of it?

You learn to shallow your pride, you admit you were wrong, that you don't really know everything and you forgive yourself for your mistakes. You focus your intent completely on finding the true you, your Higher Self, your Holy Guardian Angel. Create a ritual or meditation to perform everyday to invoke your Angel, but you must want to give up your old ego and all it's needs and wants to be massaged by others. Your Angel, the true you, knows when you are not serious, and it will never come back and make everything wonderful again, unless you are willing to look inside once more - the truth is inside you and you can never find the truth outside yourself.

What is enlightenment?

I am asked this often, everyone wants to know what it actually means, what will I feel like when enlightened? Will I be a good person who can do no wrong? Will I have reached perfection?

You will feel the same as you do now, only you will no longer be striving to find out the truth, because you will have it. Being enlightened will not mean you can do no wrong, and that everything you say or do is correct. Some will use the new found knowledge for bad things and to control others. If you are not careful on your path and rush in and find out the truth too soon, it can lead to insanity. The aspirant can't deal with the truth if they are ill prepared and instead of seeing the truth and moving forward, they get depressed, or angry and filled with resentment.  So they use their new found knowledge as a way to abuse others. Those who are well prepared can see the beauty in the truth, find inner peace and happiness.

Jesus said, "Everyone who seeks should continue seeking until he finds. When he finds, he will be troubled at the contemplation of Truth, but when he has passed through the time of trouble, he will be astonished at the brightness of the Light, for the Way of Truth is the Pathway to the Eternal Godhead, and the price of the beatific vision is the wringing of the soul. The person who desires to rise above all things must descend below all things, for the way to the heights passes through the depths of anguish, which generate the fires of Life. The person who has suffered and found Life is blessed."

I get asked often - if you know the truth, isn't it elitist to keep it to yourself and not just tell someone?

Well the example above it good enough reason to avoid at all costs someone ill prepared from finding the truth. Everyone must find their own path to truth. Mystery schools, religions and orders can only point in the right direction, and show you things that can help you, they can not do the work for you, this you must face alone.

We all have a set of daemons to face, parts of psyche that we don't like, so try to avoid acknowledging. We know that drinking too much is damaging to us, or lying, or stealing.. Our hearts know this, and these daemons that control these behaviours will do all they can to latch on to you forever, if you let them, and it is so much easier to let them.

What is a Daemon?

dae·mon (dēmən) Gr daimōn, divine power, fate, god, in - *dā(i)-, to part, divide, tear apart. daemon "spirit," from Gk. daimon "deity, divine power; lesser god; guiding spirit, tutelary deity" "one's genius, lot, or fortune;" from PIE *dai-mon- "divider, provider" (of fortunes or destinies), from base *da- "to divide". Used (with daimonion).

Daemons are divided parts of our minds. Sections of our minds that when tapped into can give us Divine powers.
Ceremonial magick is a way of summoning these daemons and banishing them, one by one, so that you are free from all the problems these cause to you. But you must face them to banish them for good. Often when starting out on this path many an aspirant will get so far, then a big bad ugly daemon will appear that they have to face, and they feel they can't. They will use any excuse to not face it, they will blame their spiritual teacher, they will blame their job, they will blame their loved ones, their health.. anything to allow them an excuse to back out and keep the daemon latched on to them.

If you manage to face all your daemons and banish them, you then get the chance to summon wonderful daemons from your psyche, ones that can do wonderful things - like learn a new language, become a great Musician, a Poet, a Writer, Scientist and Artist.. anything you can imagine. All these daemons are within you already, you just need to summon them to make the most of those parts of your brain you are not yet using.

All the answers are within you, not outside of you.

Once enlightened you don't stop learning, but you start learning at a fantastic pace. There is a difference between being enlightened to the truth and knowing everything, no one can ever know everything, we never stop learning. And it is an enlightened person who will ask for help and guidance from others on a topic they know nothing about.

Don't be afraid while on your journey to ask for help and guidance, but always follow your own intuition about what is right for you.

Devote yourself and your work to your Holy Guardian Angel/Higher Self, invoke them everyday, they will guide you to where you are supposed to be and eventually everything will fall into place.

Truth is the Pathway

Jesus said, "Everyone who seeks should continue seeking until he finds. When he finds, he will be troubled at the contemplation of Truth, but when he has passed through the time of trouble, he will be astonished at the brightness of the Light, for the Way of Truth is the Pathway to the Eternal Godhead, and the price of the beatific vision is the wringing of the soul. The person who desires to rise above all things must descend below all things, for the way to the heights passes through the depths of anguish, which generate the fires of Life. The person who has suffered and found Life is blessed."

The Johannine Church

The Johannine Church was ultimately founded when Yeshua bestowed the authority upon St. John the Beloved/Divine to establish a ‘hidden’ church; that is, one which would carry the mystery of the Christ in a manner which most souls incarnated on the planet in that age were not yet ready to receive. For the greater body of souls on the planet, the Christ ordained a church under Peter.
